Great mix by the Go Bang boys!
You may be aware of a small yet perfectly formed basement venue beneath a boozer called The Globe situated near the end of Middle Street which is just off the main seafront promenade in central Brighton
The Globe over time has gradually built up a reputation as being one of the city’s remaining locations where you can still enjoy groove based dance music on a regular basis in the company of like minded folk
From around 2009 onwards the idea of throwing regular underground gatherings in the pubs basement space gained significant momentum amongst many of Brighton’s groove based dj and party crews which has in turn fuelled a small localized scene that has come to recognize The Globe as it’s adopted home and musical focal point
To celebrate one of the cities most well loved “off piste” venues and the group of people that go there week in and week out I’ve compiled a musical explanation that kind of represents what I feel about the venue and the great people that go there to enjoy groove based dance music culture still to this day
The mix if you want to call it that uses the full length of all the recorded tracks so be prepared to sit through the whole thing to get the drift of the completed session, should take you nearly just over an hour to get through

As you’ll see most if not all of the tunes are a little older but none the less still find a home in 2010 deep in a basement of a city centre pub in East Sussex, kind of like the scene that has grown on it’s own terms down on Middle Street at The Globe
Respect and genuine adoration goes out to everyone that has either danced, played music or socialized in what has been one of my favorite venues over the last 25 years listening and enjoying dance music here in the UK
Best wishes and hope you too can find a place like this at least once in your lifetime if you haven’t already
